Welcome Mr. Fluffypants!
We live out in the middle of a big field. Our closet neighbors are about 1/4 mile away. We do enjoy where we live, but don't get a whole lot of drop in company. The make yourself at home company that we do quite often get is the 4 legged feline type. This week was no different. Welcome Mr. Fluffypants! (my wife Melissa named him).
He just showed up. I think he is courting some of our lady felines. He enjoys our cat food and enjoys the barn he sleeps in. He acts like he has been here all his life. I am surprised how kind the other cats have been. Time will tell if he can catch mice or not, but as for now, I think he feels like he is home.
I sometimes wonder if I could learn a thing or two from our cats. Well, maybe at least this one thing regarding Mr. Fluffypants. We have cats that are gray. We have cats that are black. We have cats that are yellow or orange. We have cats that are a couple different colors. We have big cats, little cats, tame cats and wild cats. We have short haired cats and we now have a long haired cat. But the fact of the matter is they are all still cats and they welcomed Mr. Fluffypants with their tails held high.
What about me? There are all kinds of colors of people living today. There are all kinds of different sizes of people as well. There are all kinds of different languages that people speak as well, but the fact of the matter is that they are all still people. The question I need to ask myself do I welcome whomever with arms opened wide no matter who they are?
Jesus said I am to love God, love one another, love my neighbor and love my enemy. I don't think that omitted anyone. So simple even a cat can do it! So why is it so hard for me to do it? Thanks be to God for Jesus and his Holy Spirit to help me love others they same way God loved me.
